AMD RX 6000 GPU Specs And Features

Dr. Lisa Su announced on 28th October that AMD will be releasing RX 6000 series. It was not long back that NVIDIA has introduced the 5000 series that shook the market for the GPUs. AMD RX 6000 GPU series will include 3 graphics cards –  RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 Xt, RX 6800. AMD claimed to make these graphics cards because they want to deliver the maximum gaming performance of the 4K gaming. Let’s talk about the AMD RX 6000 GPU specs and features that the new lineup will be provided to the gamers.

Before the announcement of the RX 6000 series, 5950X was considered the most powerful AMD graphic card. But now as this lineup is announced they are said to overtake this card even 6900XT can compete against the highly-anticipated RTX 3090. They are named the “Big NAVI” cards to deliver maximum performance for your gaming experience.

The base of all three cards is the RDNA 2 architecture and AMD’s Radeon technology that is providing the max GPU performance and ‘Rage Mode’ (Rage mode is the overclocking feature that these cards are capable of with the presets available).

Boosting of the gaming performance with very little compensation in the gameplay with Radeon Boost. AMD’s Anti Lag and Free Sync are also integrated with these graphics cards. These will help in decreasing the response click time and ease the gaming experience of 4K gaming and even 8K gaming without tearing of pixels. Now, 4K gaming at 240Hz and 8K at 60Hz is possible with these AMD RX 6000 series graphics cards.

The AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture which is giving out 1.54X performance with every watt in comparison to the last RDNA architecture.  This refers to the overall performance of the graphic card to be increased by 54%.

Basically, the BIG guns or the BIG NAVI GPUs have increased the number of Computing units now. Going by RX 6900XT which has 80 CUs and Rx 6800 XT has 72 CUs. While the last and the lowest among the three RX 6800 will still have 60 Cus. But the gaming performance is still enhanced in the RX 6800 graphic card.

To maximize the bandwidth of about 16 GT/s, AMD introduced PCI express 4.0 in these GPUs. An Infinity cache system with accelerated hardware is integrated which increases the Bandwidth and ray tracing system respectively. This made this graphic card more efficient in working and providing large effective bandwidth for the performance.

AV1 decode support is also available in these cards. HDMI 2.1 and USB C ports are also available.

My Conclusion

AMD RX 6000 series GPU specs are said to be worth the competition of  RTX 3000 series as per the sources. The price of these Radeon graphics cards is also very low as compared to the RTX 3000 series. The difference between both of the top-notch graphics cards of both the series – RTX 3090 and RX 6900 XT is almost 500$ difference which is very much.

Though the name of NVIDIA is a brand that everyone chose to buy. NVIDIA has worked on the high performance and the other features too like ray tracing etc but the Radeon series is basically about the 4K gaming possibility at High Frame Rates and low latency. Both the card lineups have their own aim to improve the gaming experience.

But AMD has claimed that they are releasing the fastest cards lineup people have ever seen. Will this change the mind of gamers to switch to the 6000 RX series or they still buy the highly anticipated RTX series.
