1. Pricing

After the surprise announcement of the Xbox Series S by Microsoft is the real game-changer for the Xbox consoles as both the console by Xbox is worth $499 for Series X and $299 for Series S. While the Sony priced the PlayStation 5 for 499$ and its digital edition for 399$.
2. Console Launch Date

PlayStation 5 will be available from 12th November 2020 while Xbox Series X will be available from 10th November 2020 and pre-orders of the console is from 22nd September.
3. Media Support

Both the consoles support standard CD, DVD, Blu-ray disc, Ultra HD Blur-ray, and USB drive
4. CPU

AMD worked together with Microsoft and Sony to manufacture their own version of the main processor unit as they work on AMD’s 8 core Zen 2 processor. But the main difference is the frequency that the processor is working on. For the Xbox, the custom frequency is 3.8 GHz while for PS5 is 3.5 GHz.
5. GPU

Again Both have AMD based GPU system too! As both are using AMD’s Radeon RDNA 2 architecture with a custom frequency of 1825 MHz for Xbox Series X while For PS5 its 2.23GHz
6. Memory Storage

There is some difference for memory storage of both the consoles but the GDDR6 SDRAM is the same for both the console that is 16 GB. The internal storage is worth comparing as PlayStation 5 is offering 825GB SSD while Xbox Series X is offering 1TB SSD. Both have an external storage slot too.
7. Video System

The video system is through 2.1 HDMI I/O supporting 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K UHD & 8K UHD resolutions for both the consoles.
8. Audio System

The audio system is through 2.1 HDMI I/O but the sound system is different for both. PS5 is supported by Tempest Engine 3D audio system while Xbox Series X is supported by Project Acoustic 3D audio system.
9. Controllers Input

The PlayStation 5 introduced its new DualShock controller while Xbox Series X has its new 4th generation Xbox controller. Both have backward compatibility of controllers from their previous version of controllers. You can use your previous generation controller too as an extra one.
10. Backward Compatibility and Online Services Available

Backward Compatibility of games for the Xbox consists of all the Xbox One games and selected Xbox 360 games along with Xbox live as an Online service for its users. While PlayStation 5 has PlayStation Network as an Online service for its users and for the games you can play all PlayStation VR games along with selected PlayStation 4 games.
