Life Story Of King Shroud

Michael “Shroud” Grzeseik is a Polish – Canadian from Mississauga, Ontario. He is 26 years old (2nd June 1994). From his childhood, he is playing video games as his father being a computer enthusiast introduced Shroud to the gaming world. His father is a video game lover and computer builder and introduced Shroud to Counter-Strike as he himself loved the game very much. Shroud started streaming in 2011. Initially, he lost his interest in Counter-Strike Source but the love to play FPS games came back with the introduction of CS GO( Counter Strike Global Offensive) which was gifted by his friend. He highly credits his streaming inspiration to Summit1g as he loves to see him interacting with people and wanted to give streaming a try. For a year or so, he streamed with 1 viewer and that was him only.

During the time 2013-14, Shroud was streaming as well as competing in ESEA qualifiers with Exertus Esports & Manajuma. The gameplay of Shroud impressed the upcoming Cloud 9 roaster which Complexity at that time. His streaming and LAN tournaments playing for Manajuma let “Dboorn” scout him for the Complexity team. He joined the team on 1st September 2014. Initially, he was a stand-in for the Complexity team.

Shroud made it Big!

The real opportunity came for Shroud when Complexity team owned by Cloud 9 roaster. He made his debut on pro scene with C9 in 2015 at ESL ESEA Pro League North America Season 1 live stage. The c9 team finished second in the main event after topping the North American bracket.

When North American’s CS is considered as minors in the Pro Leagues. C9, as well as Shroud, was making a reputation among the community and teams. During Shroud’s Pro League run, he was considered as the best aimer all around North America by most Pro Players. Cloud 9 with Shroud won his first major Pro League Season 4.
Later on, Shroud was doing all the lurking games and mentoring the new entries into the roaster. With Autimatic & Stewie 2K addition to the C9 roaster, the role of Shroud completely changed.

The Breaking Point!

In the below video he justified the role of himself in Cloud 9.

During 2017, ESL One Cologne where top teams of the world compete for 100k dollars. Cloud 9 with Shroud barely qualified for the elimination rounds losing to NAVI and NIP but they took their revenge in  Quarter and Semifinals of the ESL One. The tournament came to an end with C9 being the runner-ups losing to SK Gaming in a close match.

With streaming under the banner of Cloud 9. He managed his pro-career with streaming. But the low performance raised questions by the CS Go community about his dedication with the pro-competition on because his fans want him to play and practice only CS GO.

It can be seen in the below video that he loves streaming other games a chill than playing CSGO.

After Cologne 2017, he focused more on streaming and a few days later he stepped down from C9 roaster to become a full-time streamer with PUBG’s (Player Unknown Battle Grounds) evolution during 2017. The game made a name for Shroud in the streaming industry.

The major step took in 2017 had made him reach this far. Whatever game it is he is better than everybody else in the game mechanism. He is is a professional gamer who wants to chill and play games only without any competition. A great gamer, Reddit’s King, and a person who supports small streamers are Shroud for you guys.
